FLIR’s Firefly® camera is designed to combine machine vision features with the power of deep learning inference on-camera. With its integrated Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ 2 Vision Processing Unit (VPU) users can deploy a trained neural network directly onto the camera and achieve inference on the edge. Its small size and low power are ideal for portable devices, and it provides excellent imaging with the latest global shutter CMOS sensors.
The Firefly utilizes precise hardware triggering and GPIO support for tight integration into advanced embedded systems. With a small footprint of 27 mm x 27 mm x 14 mm, a 1.5 W power consumption, and 20 grams in weight, the camera is perfect for embedding into compact, portable devices. Ideal applications include biomedical, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), eye tracking, and depth-sensing in hand-held devices.
